My Priorities for Scioto Township

Fighting for Responsible Growth, Transparency, and Our Township’s Future
Our township is growing faster than any other in Pickaway County. Growth brings challenges—overcrowded schools, strained fire and EMS, and roads and sewers that can’t keep up. For too long, developers and outside interests have driven the agenda while residents are left footing the bill. That has to change.
As your Trustee, I will fight for a future that protects our families, respects our rural roots, and puts taxpayers first.
Responsible Growth
- School capacity first — No rezoning or annexation support unless our schools can handle the students.
- Infrastructure readiness — Development cannot move forward without roads, water, sewer, and fire/EMS already accounted for.
- Respect for farmland — Preserving farmland is preserving our heritage, food supply, and rural way of life.
Transparency & Accountability
- Require open, public discussion before any major development decisions.
- End the practice of NDAs and backroom deals between officials and developers.
- Ensure meeting records, permits, and agreements are posted publicly and easy to access.
Supporting Fire & EMS
- Prioritize funding for fire and EMS before new residential developments.
- Coordinate with county and neighboring communities to share resources smartly.
- Require developer contributions toward the services their projects require.
Law Enforcement & Public Safety
A few years ago, Scioto Township ended its contract for a dedicated Pickaway County Sheriff’s deputy assigned to our township. I believe that was a mistake. With our community growing faster than anywhere else in the county, we need more law enforcement presence — not less.
- Re-establish a contract for a designated Sheriff’s deputy for Scioto Township.
- Ensure our neighborhoods, schools, and businesses have consistent law enforcement support.
- Make public safety a top priority before approving any new development.
Protecting Taxpayers
- Insist on developer-funded infrastructure, not township bailouts.
- Oppose tax abatements that shift costs to residents.
- Protect property owners from being forced into costly agreements they never asked for.
Community Voice
I’ve built my reputation on speaking out when residents are ignored—and I won’t apologize for it. But my true passion is listening to my neighbors.
- Maintain an open-door policy and be accessible to residents.
- Encourage community-led solutions to local problems.
- Ensure every resident’s voice is heard before big decisions are made.
Protecting Farmland from Solar Sprawl
Industrial-scale solar fields do not belong in our rural residential areas. They threaten farmland, lower nearby property values, and create long-term land use problems that our township will be left to deal with once the panels reach the end of their life cycle.
As Trustee, I will continue to speak out against solar sprawl in Scioto Township — and I will use my platform to support neighboring Teays Valley communities facing the same pressures. We cannot allow outside developers to profit at the expense of our farmland, our families, and our future.
- Preserve farmland and protect our agricultural heritage.
- Keep industrial solar projects away from our neighborhoods and schools.
- Support regional efforts to stop irresponsible solar development across Teays Valley.
Conservative Values
At the heart of everything I stand for are the values of faith, family, hard work, and freedom. These principles will guide every vote I take and every decision I make for Scioto Township.
My Vision
A Scioto Township where growth is responsible, government is transparent, and our children inherit a community we are proud to call home.
