A Major Win for Accountability — EPA Hearing Confirmed

As a candidate for Scioto Township Trustee, I am committed to fighting for accountability, transparency, and responsible growth. When residents raise concerns, I will not look the other way. I will do the research, ask the hard questions, and make sure our community is heard.

That’s exactly what happened here.

After a week of direct discussions with the Ohio EPA agent assigned to our case — and after organizing, petitioning, and standing together as a community — we’ve received confirmation: a formal public hearing will be held on the Commercial Point Wastewater Treatment Plant expansion.

This didn’t happen on its own. It happened because the people demanded it.

This matters because we’re talking about a facility with:

  • 128 violations

  • Documented sewer overflows

  • A river now listed as impaired

Trusting the Village with more than they’ve already proven they can handle would be reckless. This hearing forces them to answer for it.

This is the kind of leadership I promise to bring as trustee: persistence, accountability, and a refusal to accept excuses when the health and safety of our community is on the line.
