Digging Into the Records: What the Big Traffic Study Really Shows

As a candidate for Scioto Township Trustee, I believe residents deserve the full truth — not just what developers or politicians want them to hear. That’s why I dig into the records, obtain the reports, and make sure the public sees exactly what’s at stake before decisions are made.

For the first time, the full traffic study for the proposed “Struckman Farms” development is now available.

Here’s what it shows:

  • SR-104 and SR-762 are projected to hit total failure (Level of Service “F”).

  • Delays of up to 14 minutes per vehicle are expected.

  • And these numbers assume no required improvements from the developer.

In plain terms: the roads fail, the traffic piles up, and the costs fall back on taxpayers unless leaders step up to demand accountability.

And here’s the problem: the study ends at the edge of the development. But the traffic doesn’t.

  • What happens as congestion builds north toward Columbus?

  • What about Southern Point?

  • What about SR-762?

These are the questions a responsible trustee must ask — and the answers matter for every family in our community.

This is the kind of leadership I want to bring to Scioto Township: doing the homework, showing the facts, and making sure growth decisions don’t overwhelm our schools, safety services, and roads.

The study ends at the development. But the traffic doesn’t.
