A Data Center Beside Southern Point?

A Data Center Beside Southern Point?

As a candidate for Scioto Township Trustee, I’ve been clear and consistent: massive data centers and utility-scale solar arrays do not belong in the middle of residential communities.

Now, a new proposal is being marketed — a 152-acre data center campus with its own 1.3 GW natural gas plant and solar array, right beside Southern Point. (This is not the AWS site.)

Projects of this scale come with real questions:

  • What happens to traffic, noise, and safety services?

  • What about air and water impacts from a natural gas plant?

  • And why are residents always the last to know?

These are not minor concerns. They go to the heart of whether our community will be treated with fairness and respect — or simply handed decisions after the fact.

That’s why I’ll continue to take action immediately. I’ll be bringing this issue directly to council, because our community deserves a voice before projects like this move forward.

As trustee, I’ll continue to shine a light on projects that threaten our schools, roads, and quality of life — and I’ll always stand with residents to make sure their voices come first.
