Growth on the Community’s Terms
Share
As a candidate for Scioto Township Trustee, I believe developers should never dictate the future of our communities. Growth must happen on our terms — with transparency, accountability, and respect for residents.
Mayor Aaron Thomas of South Bloomfield said it best:
“Let me be crystal clear: they build it our way, not theirs.”
As Bloomfield Hills moves into its final phase, Mayor Thomas has made it clear that developers must follow the community’s rules — not the other way around. That means:
-
Residents will have a stronger voice in the process.
-
Public meetings will ensure transparency.
-
Growth will be guided by what protects schools, roads, and quality of life.
This is what responsible growth looks like.
I recently spent time with Mayor Thomas at a local fundraiser built around these same goals. We share a passion for responsible growth, transparency in local government, and ensuring residents always have a strong voice in major decisions.
We also discussed the future of our shared Teays Valley communities — including the Protect Pickaway Alliance (PPA), an effort Mayor Thomas is helping bring together to unite villages and townships across the district around these priorities.
As trustee, I will stand with leaders who share these values — and I will always fight to make sure growth in Scioto Township reflects the will of the people who live here.
