Major Issues Discovered in 344-Acre Annexation Attempt
Share
As a candidate for Scioto Township Trustee, I am committed to protecting our community from sloppy and unlawful annexations. That means digging into the details, using Ohio law to hold developers accountable, and making sure residents have a voice before decisions are made.
That’s exactly what I’ve done here.
The 344-acre annexation petition — the one that would open the door to more than 1,200 tightly packed homes — in my opinion contains a serious legal flaw.
This morning, I submitted our findings — with supporting documentation — to the Pickaway County Commissioners, County Engineer, Prosecutor, and Township Trustees. We have requested a full legal and procedural review of this petition.
This isn’t just about maps. It’s about real consequences:
-
Our schools are already overcrowded.
-
Our wastewater treatment plant has logged 128 violations and is already overloaded.
Residents deserve answers:
-
Why was the services resolution filed under emergency language?
-
Why was public input so limited?
-
Why was the key detail — the township road — left out of the petition?
This isn’t over. But one thing is clear: as trustee, I will not look the other way when developers or municipalities try to game the system. I will fight for fairness, transparency, and accountability — every single time.
